This week we had Robin talking about how to analyse or what to look for when we are analyzing an animated character. He explained that the signifier, which is the form, are always the same, but the signified, that is the meaning, depends of the culture. He also talked about the shape and their meaning, like for example that triangles are associated with danger and squares are related with stability. He also referred the style of the animation that can be realism, abstract or symbolism. It was a very interesting presentation. Then we started analysing some famous characters using what we learned during the presentation and it was funny. I already decided which character I am going to talk about in the essay and it's going to be Bill Cypher, the main villain of Gravity Falls, I already started watching the series again and taking notes. I am probably going to watch the series one more time because Bill is a very odd character with a lot of history and mystery.
